World energy consumption just keeps rising! Energy is so very crucial to a nation’s economy as well as an individual’s lifestyle. Today, we are filling four times more gas in our vehicles than we did less than four decades back. Demand from the emerging markets is rising at a phenomenal pace. Global warming is leading to higher heating demand. While all these factors are pushing demand higher, the supply side is still constrained. One company that is making good headway in exploration and development is Heartland Oil and Gas Corp (HTOG: OTCBB). The company is developing coal bed ... Continue

The oil news is not good. This week, the price per barrel hit a new high. OPEC seems to think today’s prices drive enough profit that they do not intend to raise production levels. A refinery explosion in Texas took 70,000 barrels per day offline and there has not been a significant new refinery built in the Unites States in almost 30 years. Moreover, it is highly debatable if our primary foreign policy is to control terrorism or sustain our dependence on foreign oil. Global warming adds yet another recurring news headline that oil burning needs to be ... Continue

Advertising has always been hard to pin down as a business, especially in the old days before the Internet started to give us ways to measure how many eyeballs actually see what advertisers put out there. And as anybody in the ad sales business knows, it’s an up-and-down market. These days, it’s mostly down. The retail market is suffering, inflation is high and consumer spending is down, and so the ad spend is getting cut. Nielsen reported that the US-based ad spend for the first three quarters of 2007 was down 0.1 percent over ... Continue

We have witnessed a price rise in oil and gas over the past five years. Despite the surge, this does not appear to be a bubble, and prices are unlikely to cool, at least not significantly. Tight demand and supply conditions boost prices and this is particularly true for oil. While demand has been soaring, especially from emerging countries, supply has not been able to catch up. Even the OPEC has found its hands tied with limited spare capacity for increasing supply. Pantera Petroleum Inc (PTPE: OTCBB) is an Austin, Texas-based oil and gas exploration company. Pantera is engaged ... Continue

The OTCBB trades stock shares for a very wide range of business types. Some are well-established companies raising capital to expand the business. Others are very young companies introducing new technology or applying existing technology in new ways. These vast differences lead to different business strategies. Those trying to bring new medical drugs or treatments to consumers often need to go through test phases to prove effectiveness and assure product safety. Investors expect periodic updates on test results to validate their investment will eventually payoff in profits when sales begin. Others, bringing new technology to the market apply for ... Continue

Conventional wisdom says you should run from any stock whose symbol has been changed because the company is delinquent in SEC filings. I kind-of-like to sniff them out, check around, and see if there is an opportunity lurking about. After all, isn’t it the unusual and opportunistic nature of the Bulletin Board we find attractive? Here is one that might have something in it for you. 180 Connect Inc (OTCBB:CNCTE) has received an unsolicited proposal from Creative Vistas, Inc. (OTCBB: CVAS) to acquire all of the outstanding capital stock of 180 Connect for $3.00 per ... Continue

The year has begun with concerns over recessionary trends in the US. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s comments earlier this month inspired little optimism. Against this backdrop, it seems prudent to consider companies that have a global presence and those that are making innovative changes to weather the storm. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in California, Worldwide Manufacturing USA Inc (WWMU: OTCBB) is a contract manufacturer and engineering services company with a presence in the US and in China. Last month, the company named Jeff Watson as President. Mr. Watson brought with him more than twenty-three years of manufacturing ... Continue

Telephones are no longer just telephones, and computers are no longer just computers. Two trends will mark the future of these two industries, and these are multifunctionality, and portable high-speed Internet access. Already, smartphones like the iPhone and others have Internet access capability built in, so you can check your email and surf the web from anywhere (but hopefully not while driving or sitting in the theater). But we as impatient consumers have expectations, and we expect our mobile devices to give us the same high speed access we have at home. And so, mobile broadband is already becoming ... Continue

Can a company that has never reported a cent of sales revenue over the course of its four year trading history on the BB warrant a good close look? Even if it presently sits below the signal line of its MACD, is only .08 cents above the 52 week low and 6.00 below the high, and happens to be the proud owner of a negative 2.21 EPS? Houston based Opexa Therapeutics Inc. (OPXA:OTCBB), might well be sitting on the verge of a break-out. Opexa is a biopharmaceutical company developing autologous cellular therapies to treat several major ... Continue
